It beats Lightroom by a mile

Paul White

I have used Capture One for about a year to process files from my Nikon D700, and I have to say it beats Lightroom by a mile. It produces amazing shadow and highlight detail, and having set up pincushion distortion settings for my 14m lens, I can do instant corrections on architectural images. I have also had great success processing raw files shot in difficult light at 2000 ISO.

I also find I get more accurate colour rendition under artificial light with exceptionally accurate greys.

Raw Processing weekend.

Getting the exposure right, the image sharp and the composition you want at the point when you take the image is without doubt the best practice. Having done so though there's still a last step to take in turning that digital RAW file into a final image that does justice to your skill and work up until that point, and that is making sure you really get the most out of it with your processing.
